Woodstock is a city located in Cherokee County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 10,050. Woodstock is one of the fastest growing cities in Georgia, with an estimated population of 17,214 in 2004.

DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 10,050 people, 3,869 households, and 2,627 families residing in the city. The population density was 440.4/km2 (1,140.4/mi2). There were 4,102 housing units at an average density of 179.8/km2 (465.5/mi2). The racial makeup of the city was 89.42% White, 5.05% African American, 0.29% Native American, 1.66% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.94% from other races, and 1.61% from two or more races. 4.94% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 3,869 households out of which 37.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.1% were married couples living together, 9.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.1% were non-families. 26.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 3.10. In the city the population was spread out with 26.8% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 39.0% from 25 to 44, 18.3% from 45 to 64, and 8.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 92.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.4 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $58,506, and the median income for a family was $65,740. Males had a median income of $48,054 versus $32,798 for females. The per capita income for the city was $25,586. 4.2% of the population and 2.2% of families were below the poverty line. 5.0% of those under the age of 18 and 8.6% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
